Topic: PCIe vs DSP 9632

Hi, I just purchased a secondhand DSP 9632, but I was not aware that my (Windows 8) PC does not have a PCI port (only PCIe). Is there any work around for this?

Best regards,
Steffen

Re: PCIe vs DSP 9632

4 ways, 3 not easy or cheap, one uncertain.
Get a different motherboard with a PCI slot. If you know how easy and not to expensive.
Get a PCI rack expansion like a magma. Very expensive or you should get lucky. Needs some research too to get the right one.
Sell the 9632 and get a AIO (not cheap, but very easy)
Easiest is https://www.google.nl/search?q=pcie+to+ … mp;bih=448 but not sure if this will work and it will not line up in your computer bays.

Re: PCIe vs DSP 9632

Vinak,

thank you very much for your reply!

I will start to try option 4; anyone who made that work (the PICe to PCI converter)?

Next I think I go with option 3 :-)

Best regards,
Steffen

Re: PCIe vs DSP 9632

I did get a PCIe to PCI converter and except for a few physical challenges the installation went well. I installed the driver (before the card) and the flash update. 9632 is recognized by Studio 1 and when playing back the meeters in Totalmix are moving... but... no sound is coming out of the analog out, nor the headphone jack (unbalanced break-out cable). Main Out in Totalmix is set to Analog 1/2. When the volume is set up to 0 db it seem like the transients are creating a noise in the headphones.

I have opened a new topic to address that: http://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php … 80#p104380
