What it saves you:

• No more typing EQ values by hand. It writes ready-to-load preset files for ADI-2 Remote (.adieqpr) and TotalMix FX Room EQ (.tmreq). Load and go.

• No ADI-2? Room EQ works too, with more bands. Same presets from the same data, and Room EQ gives you 7 parametric bands plus low and high shelf, more than the ADI-2's Five+Two=Seven.

• Better readable diagrams. oratory1990's charts pack up to nine curves into one picture. This gives you three: target, raw measurement, correction. Plus a table with frequency, Q, and gain.

• Compare your headphones side by side, all anchored to the same 0 dB at 1 kHz reference, so the curves are honestly comparable instead of each floating at its own level.

• One line per headphone, one command. Add a GitHub link, run it, and done.

Corrections stay below 2 kHz by default, for the reasons KaiS explained here a while back
and Matthias Carstens covers in RME's own video.

What frustrates me is that I use the ADI as a phono preamp - and it advertises its excellent advantages over analogue preamps for that function, but also to listen to digital audio via a computer connected to ADI’s USB port. The problem: if I listen to DSD audio files and want to revert to the analog input to listen to a vinyl record, the ADI cannot properly amplify the phono input from my turntable, as this function is only available if the sample rate is up to 192khz. It’s also relevant to note that if the computer connected via USB is then disconnected, and if it was setting a sample rate higher than 192khz, the ADI retains the computer high sample rate, requiring manually setting a lower sample rate (the remote is of no use in this case),

I would like to know why it is not possible to set a different sample rate for the analog input separately, even with a computer connected via USB, and if there is any solution possible other than disconnecting the USB and manually setting the sample rate to up to 192khz, when a higher sample rate has been set by an USB computer.

I have my unit set up for mastering, such that Output 1/2 feeds my mastering chain, Input 1/2 receives my mastering chain, and output 3/4 is my monitor path.

I currently have an analogue monitor signal leaving 3/4 and feeding my Kii Three monitors using their analogue input.

I want to use the AES output on the RME to send a digital signal out of the unit into the digital input of the Kii Three to avoid an extra step of conversion.

I can only figure out how to make Out 1/2 come out of the digital AES output, and not Out 3/4. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I'm set up in USB mode, and trying to do this by selecting "Digi out source" but the only option is "default", which selects Out 1/2 which is obviously the signal going to my mastering chain and not the monitor signal.

If you could explain as if I'm a child that would be appreciated, haha! I set this unit up a while ago and it was an absolute brain melter to get it to do somehting as simple as the above. I really don't want to hit the wrong setting and mess up the current set up. This is definitely one of the most unnecessarily confusing units I've owned!

I wanted to enquire if the ADI 2 FS will be refreshed or updated at some point soon? I understand the pro model has had a special edition and now an EX version releasing in the very near future. But I wonder where that leaves the ADI 2 FS.

If there is an update in the works, I might hold off purchasing the ADI 2 FS. I only need a simple box with the highest A/D conversion RME can provide for my recording sessions. And these newer units like the 2/4 SE and no doubt the EX generate a lot more heat alongside features not useful for me.

If anyone has any knowledge, or that might be able to direct me to a more suitable A/D converter please do let me know! I'd be greatly appreciative!

I am running an RME Fireface UFX III, an RME ADI-2 Pro FS, and an analogue Neve preamp/compressor, all operating at 96 kHz.

At the moment, my hardware chain is set up as an external analogue insert to process vocals:
I am sending audio from the UFX III via analogue Outputs 3/4 into the Neve Line Inputs.
The Neve analogue Line Outputs feed straight into the Analog Inputs of the ADI-2 Pro FS.
I am returning the digital signal from the ADI-2 Pro FS using a single AES/EBU cable into the AES In of the UFX III (physical channels 13/14).

The ADI-2 Pro is currently set to Basic Mode: A/D, and everything is monitoring perfectly through my headphones connected directly to the front panel of the UFX III (using TotalMix FX with Software Playback 1/2 unmuted, and all other faders pulled down).

In Logic Pro, the mastered backing track goes straight to the Stereo Out, whilst the mono vocal tracks (recorded with a pair of AT5045s) loop through the Neve, returning via a Multipressor, an Altiverb EMT 140 plate, and a stereo delay.

Here is where I am stuck:
I have connected my studio monitors (Yamaha HS5s) to the rear analogue Line Outputs 1/2 of the ADI-2 Pro, but I am getting absolutely no sound out of them. I am aware that in pure A/D mode, the unit prioritises analogue-to-digital conversion towards the AES output. Is it actually possible to configure the ADI-2 Pro (perhaps by switching the Basic Mode to Stereo, CC, or Multi-channel) so that whilst the Analog Inputs are busy converting the Neve signal back to the UFX III via AES, the rear Line Outputs remain active for main monitor duties? Or does the unit strictly require a second digital cable (going from the UFX III AES Out back into the ADI-2 AES In) in order to feed the Master output from Logic down to the monitors?

I would be incredibly grateful if any ADI-2 Pro users could guide me through the correct internal menus, or confirm whether my single-cable digital routing physically prevents this.

my ADI-2 DAC FS started doing this since a few weeks. Ive been using the dac for one year by now.

When powered on, after some time (at most 30 Minutes to 1 Hour) the dac randomly looses power and turns off. The power appears to be completly gone, since the standby LED is not lighting up red. After a few seconds it magicly turns on again.

Thats not always the case tho, one time i had to unplug the device for a while since it would just not turn on again. The power supply was not very warm or anything tho.

My guess is a bad power supply, but maybe its something different? I dont think its a loose connection since the cable cant move at all in the position its right now. I usually dont uplug the power supply when not using the dac, I just leave the device in standby mode.

Could someone help out or should i just buy a new power supply straight away?

The Problem is

When I play music in MusicBee with ASIO, it can make ADI-2 auto switch bitrate perfectly.
but when I press Ctrl + S in MusicBee make it release ASIO control, MADIface will stuck at latest playing file's bitrate (for example 44.1kHz)

and becasue this, everytime need manual change back to 24/96 when I want to listen Amazon Music (it can't auto change bitrate lol)

is there any way to make it auto change back to default setting bitrate (24/96)? Looks MusicBee have a plugin call "Even Commands" can auto excute script or software after playing music.

but looks no API or other thing can remote control ADI-2? (and even it have, I think it can't change because MADIface control the bitrate as admin)

I am looking for some practical advice from someone who knows more than me about moving my 2-way analogue active system to using a digital active crossover.

Current Setup
Speakers are Naim SL-2 with passive crossovers removed.
Power amps are a pair of Teddy Pardo MB100 monoblocks driving the woofers and a Sugden Masterclass stereo power amp (which is dual mono) driving the tweeters.
Analogue active crossover is a dbx223xs (the balanced in/out model).
Upstream of the active crossover is a RME ADI-2 Pro FS R BE used as DAC and Pre-amp in ‘DAC’ mode.
There is a Raspberry Pi streamer connected to the USB input of the RME unit, and a CD player connected to the analogue input of the RME too.

This all works fine.

What am I Trying to Achieve?
I would like to replace the analogue active crossover with a digital active crossover such as Camilla DSP running on a Raspberry Pi. I want to do this have more control over the crossover parameters/settings than I currently have with the analogue crossover.

This would effective move the crossover function to be ‘upstream’ of the ADI-2 Pro and ‘downstream’ of the streamer. It would also require me to switch the CD player to use its digital out put into a digital input on the streamer.

I know that the ADI-2 Pro has 2 distinct 2-channel DACs and that its ½, ¾ analogue outputs could in principle be used as 1=Hi Left, 2=Low Left, 3=Hi Right, 4=Low Right or similar, with some messy wiring using the front ¾ headphone output and rear ½ main output.

Question: I obviously need to feed a pair of 2-channel digital signals from the Camilla DSP output to the ADI-2 Pro, but how is this best done? Would it be best to setup the routing in Camilla DSP to send all 4 channels over USB to the ADI-2 and set that unit in ‘multi-channel’ mode, or is there some other better approach?

My setup:
- ADI-2/4 Pro SE, DSP 40
- USB connected, CC-Mode: 6/8 multichannel
- SPDIF In: Optical
- Clock Source: INT (192 kHz)
- SRC: SPDIF In
- SRC Gain dig.: 0 dB

State Overview shows:
- SP op: lock, 48 kHz, cons, 16-bit
- USB: conn, 192 kHz, 6/8
- SRC: SPDIF
- Clock Source: INT

The SPDIF column on the level meter screen shows no signal at all (this occurs whether INT clock is set to 192, 96, or 48 kHz). If I set Clock to SPDIF and turn SRC off, the SPDIF input works, signal appears and audio passes through normally.

Is there something I'm missing?

First time poster but long time reader! I need some help with my setup.

I have a multi ADI-2 Pro setup currently, PRO FS and Pro FS R BE that I have been using as my interfaces in USB Multi Channel Mode. Things are great but I need more I/O. I am thinking of removing the PRO FS and adding a Fireface 802 FS for preamps and more outs. I have been reading some older posts about ADI-2 Pro and UFX+, and want to make sure I am hooking everything up correctly. I have a bunch of outboard gear and patch bays and I send my mix to a RND 5060 which I have been using for monitoring and I can swap between the mix and external sources there like the main out from ADI2, phono, drum machine with ease. I am using Logic and a Mac. I'd like to able to send as many outputs as I can to the 5060, thinking I have the 8 out from the Fireface and 4 from ADI2, 1/2 and 3/4 routed out the front jack, so 12 total tracks to the 5060. All I/O will be connecting to patch bays for convenience.

I am thinking that I connect the ADI2 to the Fireface via AES, this will leave my ADAT free for things like my OX box, etc. Should I keep the ADI2 in Multi channel mode and connect both devices to the Mac via USB and make an aggregated device? Other posts have suggested ADI2 as Clock Slave in AD/DA mode and Fireface Clock Master as Interface connected to Mac. I am trying to weigh the pros and cons of why I wouldn't use USB mode if I am not monitoring via the ADI2?

As of yesterday my studio with ADI-2 PRO FS R was like this:

ADI-2 PRO FS R mode "DAC" and from my DAW Ableton Live 12 I routed via output 7+8 that send "ADAT" 2 ch to Trinnov Nova and back from the Trinnov Nova I connected to the ADI-2 via AES/EBU cable and then via main analog out from the ADI-2 to the ATC SCM25A PRO MK2

Now I'm wating for "Genelec 8351B" and I thinking to connect almost the same but little difference, and asking if this is possibole before I buy new AES/EBU Cables

ADI-2 PRO FS R will be in "DAC" mode to send via ADAT to the Trinnov Nova and back from the Trinnov Nova via AES/EBU Cable to the ADI-2 PRO FS R, and to the "Genelec 8351B" via the ADI-2 PRO FS R AES/EBU out...

Is the ADI-2 PRO FS R can receive AES/EBU and pass true over AES/EBU when it is on "DAC" mode ? ++ to respond to volume changes from the Trinnov Nova as with the analog out ?

Basically I need to swap the anlog out to digital out and as far my tests and knowledge I need to stick to "DAC" mode

Right now my setup is connected this way:

Ferrofish 2 ins/ outs
Behringer Ada 8200 1 ins/outs
Adi 2 pro fs black 1 ins/out

The ADA 8200 I don’t need to use now , I can remove it from my setup.

I know the Adi 2 has AES / etc digital outs and currently use the analog outputs but wanna change it now .

Can I use this setup to connect the new monitors digitally with Adi 2 and still have all this connected this way ?
If not, how can I use it this way ??
(I have to use the optical ins/out to get it in sync right ) ?

    i would like to use ADI-2/4 as stereo IN -> Quad Output using it as digital Xover dividing HI/LOW signals for bi-amp.
don't see any instruction in manual but suppose that is possible to assign different FIR for each OUT (1,2,3,4): someone could confirm? I'm also interested to behaviour for SDM (DSD) and possibility to use volume control on this.

this configuration would like to be fantastic for studio and hi-fi both.
