I'm sure this is answered somewhere but is there a link to the USB driver that will work with mac os Catalina? Reading some threads there is discussion of beta's etc but links go to newer drivers for M1 & M2 macs. Thanks.

You did not tell for wich interface you are asking, I took that link from Babyface Pro FS, it works for the most interfaces too.

Is the UFX in Class compliant mode? (it should not, see manual)

The 360 firmware is not the cause that it is not working.

Thanks for this...unfortunately, that driver is MacOS 11 and up.

Some good news: I think it's fixed.

What I did:

1. I deleted everything following this thread:

2. I then booted into Safe Mode
3. I rebooted and installed the original driver from the CD that came with the unit (2011!).
4. That got the window open, but no sound (maybe the driver was not compatible with Mojave?)
5. So I updated to the latest version for Mojave (OS 10.14), which is 3.221
6. That pretty much fixed it, and I got my GUI/Window back and the software talking to the Babyface.

However, the control buttons where mixed up on the Babyface. The Phones selection controlled the Master and vice versa.

I tried it in the new admin account and same thing; funnily enough, there is still no Loopback button on that account for some strange reason.

I flashed the unit again, with it plugged in, unplugged it for it to take effect (even though technically it wasn't doing anything as it was already up to date).

Changed over to the original Admin account, and the buttons on the Babyface now control in the right order.

One thing: I lost access to most of my past Workspaces. Not sure why a handful are accessible but most are greyed out.

Also, when I tried to load a past Workspace, the GUI turned all black. Really weird. I got it back by going to File-->Load Recent and loading one from the list.

This thing of the GUI turning black, I saw it before; it started happening a few weeks ago.

I'm almost wondering if this is a port/power issue on my laptop?
Having said that, my Babyface has the optional power supply unit, so it shouldn't be sucking too much power (if any?) when it runs.

Daniel, MJ or some other higher ups or experts may be able to shed further light on this.

The main thing, is, for now, I can get back to work.

The firmware is at the latest version. I did run it anyways, it went through, and remained at the latest version:

Current Mac: (mid 2014 Macbook Pro, Mojave): Firmware v225   Driver: v3.221


Older Mac:     (2011 Macbook Pro, High Sierra): 
Firmware v225   Driver: v3.01

Some points:
-In the Totalmix Function Menu: "Mixer View" is greyed out


-Opening older Workspace:
"Mismatch detected - Workspace File contains no data for connected Device"

This leads me to believe that something is stopping Totalmix from seeing the Babyface?

Another question I have: is this the best place to post my request for help, or is their a dedicated sub for the original Babyface?

As I was having some issues with Screenflow crashing my system (resolved by resetting PRAM and SMC somehow), I created a new admin account to test out stuff.

While testing my apps I realized that the 'Loopback' button was not present on the Totalmix GUI on the new account. I need that functionality for broadcasting to Mixlr, etc. So I tried updating. I did not restart after but instead updated the firmware (but it was already up-to-date, so I don't think anything changed there). All this with the Babyface connected.

I then rebooted.
After that, on BOTH admin accounts, the Totalmix window is no longer viewable or present.
1. Normally it pops open when connecting the Babyface by USB; it no longer does that. It can't be opened at all.
2. The menu bar on top is available, however.
3. Fireface USB Settings app defaulted to 32000 Hz sample rate for some reason, and stays on that every time I connect the device, even if I change it to 48000.
4. When attempting to open a past Workspace, I get this message: "Mismatch detected -Workspace File contains no data for connected Device." ?
5. Babyface is not detected by the OS nor any app that can normally access it.
6. I tried a complete delete, removing all recommended files and re-install; nothing changed (unless I missed some vital files, but I followed the procedure outlined by someone on here).
7. I've tried booting to Safemode; nothing changed.
8. I followed this article for "Definitive solution for macOS "driver not loaded" Security problem" but nothing changed.

9. The Babyface does work on my older Macbook Pro 2011, so this is something in my newer laptop's settings or state that either got corrupted or changed during the update I attempted to fix the missing Loopback button issue.

My Babyface has never failed me; so I'm really shocked that it someone managed to break on the driver/software side of things; even if it is specific to my laptop? It's my main work tool and I have deadlines to meet, so it is quite worrying.

My question(s):
a) Does any have a clue as to what might be going on here, and how to fix it?

Sub-questions:
b) Why would the Loopback button be present on one account but not the other on the same computer?
c) Clearly the Totalmix and RME Fireface software are no longer speaking with the Babyface. What possible methods could be used to address this?
d) How could an update break this, again, on both accounts?
e) If it's firmware related, why does the Babyface work on another laptop?
f) Would restoring my computer to an earlier state via Time Machine or a HD clone fix this?
