3.0 should work. Sometimes a bios setting needs to be changed with latest AMD chipset.
Don't know the details. On intel it should just work.

Hi, I have been using a Fireface 800 since may be ...2003 or 2004, first on a PC then on a Mac Pro 2008 and now on a Mac Pro 2012.
I have to run Cubase on a PC now but is it possible to connect my dear FF800, as PCIe is now 4.0 ?
All the cards I found are, at best, 3x compatible...
