MacOS seemingly has good out-of-the-box support for AVB and it should find devices on the same physical layer in the Audio MIDI Setup -> Window -> Network Devices dialog, but I have no idea if that is only for the role of Talker or Listener and how to set up either on the Linux PC.

I currently "throw RME hardware" at the problem, with BBF Pro on the Linux and UCX II on the Mac and connect them via ADAT. I'm reluctant to go down the rabbit hole of trying to get years old tutorials to work when there is not even one success report and it looks like it never gained traction aside from specialized hardware.

connectivity-wise the AVB Tool, eventually AVB Tool + 12Mic would cover my AD/DA needs well.
Having no experience with networked-audio, Is there a way how to interface it in Linux?

So far I've found https://tsn.readthedocs.io/avb.html which looks kind of promising, but it still would be much nicer to meet someone around who actually would use RME AVB stuff on a daily basis and confirm how it works with recent kernel and what is needed to set up.
