There‘s nothing to configure except “Dig Out Source”, which determines if the signal is direct, or controlled by ADI-2’s DSP and volume control.
Bit width is alway 24 bit.

Sample rate is set by the source, the Roon Server in your case.
ADI-2 has to follow this, no way to “convert” with USB input.

Make sure that Roon’s SR really does NOT exceed 96 kHz.
Look at ADI-2’s display lower right corner.

Yes the screens meters show source is received in the ADI-2/4 - But is the output on the Coax (Red RCA) Digital? And what are its parameters?

Can you set the Coax to Digital and can you then set the signal parameters to match the requirements of the speakers - Sample Rate Up to 96Khz and Max Bits per sample 24bit? If so please help with how to do that.

Look at manual page 39, USB Mode.

If ADI-2’s Line Output 1/2’s main screen’s meters show audio, Coax Out should carry the same signal.
Dependind on the setting “Dig. Out Source”, with or without ADI-2’s volume control.
Be careful with the volume in Roon, “Dig. Out Source” defaults to direct, no ADI-2 volume control.

• Unplug all headphones.

• Did you mix Coax Out with Coax In on the breakout cable?
Use the red RCA.

• Check the sample rate, diplayed in ADI-2’s lower right corner.

Please excuse the long preamble :- To summarize I need help with ADI=2/4 Pro settings

I was provided a Pro-Ject StreamBox Ultra 2 to act as a Roon ready end point - This device has ethernet in for streaming input and only a USB out (that is typically to a DAC and on to Analogue speakers).

I also have RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE and have connected the StreamBox to the USB input.

In Roon it shows the StremBox as a bridge device and the  ADI=2/4 Pro as the Audio Device  And the Roon Settings are - MAX Sample Rate (PCM) Up to 96Khz and Max Bits per sample 24bit)

In StreamBox Settings show Output Device  ADI=2/4 Pro Roon Ready Play Back Options = Convert to PCM (Other options are Direct DSD or DSD over PCM (DoP))

The ADI=2/4 Pro is set to Basic mode - so defaults to USB mode - NO settings have been changed from the factory defaults

Looking at the ADI=2/4 Pro screen Line 1/2 Ouput shows playback occurring when I stream a song in Roon - That is Great!

The Speakers are Meridian DSP Digital speakers and will take PCM input MAX Sample Rate Up to 96Khz and Max Bits per sample 24bit.  They are connected via Coax to the ADI=2/4 Pro DB9 breakout cable the Coaxial out (red)

There is NO sound from the speakers and I think this is a question of getting a digital output of the correct Coaxi and in the correct specifications

Your help would be greatly appreciated
