But there are some that treat the app as a streaming platform since it does have a pretty robust “k room” feature but I digress…

I went back to check out the loop back sections in the menu and while it does address the concerns I mentioned… I don’t think I see an output 1-2 in the HW section, and if I’m to assume main output as 1-2, then main does not have the loopback selection when I click on the tool icon…

That app has very limited customizability (after all most people just use the Apple headphone mic), and this is what makes this challenging.

I think it’s possible that it’s too flexible that I can’t figure out how to do what I want it to do…

I can see in SW playback that it is picking up my mic from HW in1, but it’s only showing it on the left side of that SW playback channel, which means that the mono signal sent to the Karaoke app is picked up as the left side of a stereo channel. Unfortunately the karaoke app isn’t like a DAW where you can tinker with its output setting.

I did see from a video where a solution for that was to make the mic input stereo and then select the “An1-An2” option which is non existent in my totalmix.

Also this “mic being picked up as the left channel of stereo by the host app then plays back as left of stereo” happens to every audio interface except the two podcasting mixer/inferfaces. And on Motu the fix seemed to be selecting “Mainout 1-2” for loop back source and “usb in 1-2” for loop back location, whatever that means.

Hi gang, just received my unit today and pretty excited in learning what it can do!

I’m at a bit of a loss here as I think my need is a bit niche and haven’t found anything that deals with this specifically (though I know it involves Loopback)…

On a high level, I want to be set it up to be used in the virtual K rooms in this popular Chinese Karaoke app, where simply have the

1. Mic (Analog1 mono) send out to the app (thru usb to iPad)

2. At the same time send the Instrumental playing on the app ALONG with my voice that I sent over from the mic to my headphone (I want to hear what the listeners are hearing in the k rooms) (thru USB from iPad)

3. I also don’t want to hear myself through analog1 in on my headphones since it’s going to be sent to my headphone from what the iPad is sending back thru software playback (maybe this is the loopback part?)

I was able to achieve this rather simple with RodeCaster Pro 2 (but obviously not a big fan of the Rcp) since I would just go into routing and make sure only HW in1 is in the USB output, and then make sure HW in1 is excluded in my headphone output and only the USB input is included in the headphone.

I’ve also tried to do something similar with couple different audio interface that had standalone/loopback feature and was only able to succeed with the MOTU Ultralite MK5 but one common theme I have seen with these non podcaster mixer interface is that I would often run into an issue where the playback of my mic (analog 1) coming back from the iPad would often sometimes only be on the left side of the playback channel while the instrumental would be on both sides. Curious why is that happening?

Most videos relating to this topic I saw all involved assigning the DAW/SW Playback to a specific channel which makes it more challenging for me since I’d really prefer not to route thru a DAW if possible…

Much appreciate the help in advance!
