Can you test this with 12V power?

For the record, I was finally able to try this – no difference, still stuck on boot screen.

Just a thought from an nonexperienced avb madi user, but sometimes great troubleshooter, have you tried booting with nothing connected? No network and no madi, or one of both

Thanks so much for continuing to pursue this. I had not used the secondary port at all until I wanted to change to switched mode. When I changed to switched mode in Dante Controller, it said I needed to reboot. I used the reboot button in Dante Controller but it didn’t seem to work – this was the first time it got stuck on the boot screen. I turned it off with the rear switch, and it took a few times before it booted again. Then it was OK for a week or so, with the secondary port functioning perfectly in switched mode (with a Focusrite AM2 in the secondary port). So I thought it was just a temporary glitch, maybe from the change of setting.

I’m afraid I don’t remember if I already had the AM2 in the secondary port when I changed to switched mode. But I definitely had never used the secondary port before this.

Then after a week it again started getting stuck on the boot screen again, almost every time. The only times it has worked again since then have been with a complete power cycle with the rear switch, not with the front encoder.  And only about 2% of the time.

But another thing comes to mind. When you've switched to switched mode, did you change your setup? Like, did you only use the primary port before and then both ports thereafter?

By the way, does it make a difference if you use the "Reboot" button in Dante controller, the encoder button to switch off/on or do a full power cycle without shutting down the unit first?

I'm thinking more about when it happened – it worked perfectly for over two years until I needed to change it to switched mode, which I did using Dante controller as described in the 12Mic-D manual. That's when the problems started. Are you able to use the 12Mic-D reliably in switched mode?

I've had a couple of theories and tried them out with a development unit. Unfortunately I haven't been able to reproduce your issue. So Daniel might be right that this is a hardware problem. Where are you located?

OK. Might be a few days before I can get a 12V supply. Any other ideas in the meantime would be welcome. Thanks for your help so far.

I don't have a suitable adapter at the moment, but could try it later if you think it would help diagnose the problem.

Strangely, I've only had successful reboots in my hotel, not at the location where I'm recording. It boots about 30% of the time in my hotel, but not at all in the venue. Though I did test it the day before recording in the venue and it was OK then, so it has worked briefly in the venue.
