Switch the input channel to mono and pan it to center.

I understand this sounds as a totally normal option for you, but I really can't find a button for mono in this program. I only see stereo and whenever I click that he duplicates/splits the analogue 1/2.

Would you be ok with explaining it a little more clear? Like writing to a kid I don't mind haha

From your screenshot, it's clearly visible, that you selected the phones output and the fader for HW input Analog 1/2 is down.

As you are wearing phones, the likelihood of a feedback loop is low, but be careful; slowly raise the fader.

It depends on whether you have open or closed headphones, how loud the headphone volume is,
how close you are to the Mic, whether it is a very sensitive condenser mic and how high the Mic gain is.

If you monitor through active speakers, then you will easily produce a feedback loop.
Better use headphones for monitoring your mic recording.

Thank you, this worked. I only hear myself through my right ear though, any way to get to hear myself/audio through both ears?

EDIT: it worked for like 1 minute now it doesn't work anymore. Any way to just turn on a button on the interface so I can hear myself and the audio while voicing? I mean there should be just a simple button/solution right?

1. Check that you are in submix mode, the default routing mode, see light blue area in the upper right.

2. In the bottom row, select the phones output: HW Output AN 3/4.

3. Check according to the fader positions of channels in the
- top row (HW inputs) and
- middle row (SW playbacks = audio from PC)
whether all needed audio channels are being routed into the selected submix.

Check that all needed channels are routed to the selected headphone submix.
You might only need to raise the fader of the Mic input.

Some more general info

RME recording interfaces have a very flexible routing. Each of the HW outputs in the bottom row has an individual routing.
You can check the routing of all submixes / HW outputs in the three steps that I told you; see above.

Save your settings

Save the refined routing to one of the 8 Snapshots.
To save your settings (Snapshots/Routing, Window Size and Position), save the workspace to the computer.
Save also to worspace quick select slot #1 (of 30).

The Workspace Quick Select Slots 1..9 can easily be recalled with the key combination ALT-1 .. ALT-9 (Windows)
Option-1 .. Option-9 (macOS).

The question might be whether you actually want to use Totalmix to do the monitoring or your audio software. Have you been recording with another interface before, using the same setup otherwise? Perhaps it would be best to describe your (intended) workflow.

Hi, what do you mean? I already wrote in my post that I used a Focusrite interface before. Seems quite unneccesairy to post a whole setup of my old interface as I'm facing issues now. The only thing I need to know is how to hear audio over this new Interface when I speak into my mic.. as a voice actor this is quite important.

If the solution is not over Totalmix but over the interface itself, I gladly hear how!

So recently I upgraded to a Fireface UCX ii. It took me HOURS to get to find out how to connect it to my Macbook (English is not my main language so it was difficult).

Now I can record (I'm a voice actor) however, I don't hear myself through my headphones. I can't hear anything through my headphones at all.

The headphones are plugged in the right way (I've checked), Totalmix is really messy for me as I'm a complete noob/newbie in audio. Before I had a Focusrite which was basically 1 button and everything worked.

Can someone please help me in very clear language?
