Hmm, that's old info on the FAQ, sorry! What you want to do is easy with TotalMix, see here for the quick start guide:

Thanks for the quick help! It works very nice indeed. Lovely AIO card.
I use a tool that just got an input device and also I wanted to be able to grab/rip easily any sound running on Windows (daws, games, youtube, even the mix of all)

I thought it wasn't possible yet after reading that point from FAQ http://www.rme-audio.de/en_support_faq.php#3 but as I'm a newbie, I can make a bad interpretation.

Already works for current products (see "loopback" in the manual), what problem do you have?
