What I mean by drop out is that the fireface800 disconnects (red host light turns on) totally randomly.

It usually happens within a minute of windows7 loading and i don't have to do anything specific for it to happen.

Please be more specific. What exactly "drops"?
Have you tested this?

Hello,

I am trying to install my fireface800 to my sony vaio latop am getting constant dropping out of the fireface when using cubase5 on windows7.

Cubase5 v - 5.1.1 build 120
Windows 7
Sony Vaio Laptop model vpccw17fd
intel core 2 duo t6600 2.2

I have tried using the legacy firewire drivers but it did not solve the problem.

any ideas?
