I've actually had Monitoring set to Manual in Cubase, but just now I switched off Direct Monitoring in Cubase and it seems to do the trick!

Not sure if what I've done makes sense - but I think that's what you meant, laex, thank you!!!

basically, you have to decide:
a) manage monitoring via Cubase, or
b) via Totalmix

(depending on what cubase version you use (cubase control room/ADM...), both might overlap more or less...)

if you already set up your monitor mix in Totalmix, I suggest you stay with this for now: all you have to check is that in Cubase the monitoring button is not activated automatically with the record-ready button! in Cubase preferences you can set this to (something like) "monitoring: manual" for example...

I've modified one preset to be headphones only output not going to the main speakers. However, when I arm the record button in Cubase the record channel monitoring is going to the speakers! How can I change it to go to headphones only on that preset? Cheers!!
