Topic: Is "stereo ch2 +ch3" possible?

Hi,

To avoid confusion (several people work here), I'd like to set up the main PatchBay, Fireface UFX III, and Nuendo so that all the Input Channel Numbers match. (Input on PB Ch1 goes to FF Ch 1 and is available on Nuendo Ch1 etc)

For instance: I'd like to have the layout... Ch1 M, but Ch 2+3 ST, Ch4 M, but Ch 5+6 ST...etc

Is this possible, or will I have to just rethink it in terms of "only 1/2, 3/4 etc" as being stereo pair-able?

You have the UFX III? You can try it out in under 2 minutes. This is really an "isi pisi" task.

In case you are anxious to change your settings, save and restore your workspace.
Quickest by saving to Workspace Quick Select Slot #1 and then later restoring everything with ALT-1.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've been using TMFX for around 15yrs, so saving snaps and workspaces isn't an issue.

It's just that I'm doing something I've never had to do before, which is, I need to make CH 2 + CH3 become a stereo pair.

Right now, when I select "Stereo" in the tools menu on CH 2, rather than connecting CH2 to CH 3, as I'm hoping for, it defaults to connecting CH 2 to CH 1, making the stereo pair CH 1 + 2, and when I select "Stereo" in the tools menu of CH 3, it connects CH 3 to CH 4, not CH 2.

So, the question is "is it possible to connect CH 2 and CH 3 as a stereo pair?

Or will TMFX always default to creating stereo pairs out of CH 1/2, 3/4, 5/6...etc?

Simply open for HW Inputs Analog IN 1+2, 3+4 the submenu by clicking to the "wrench symbol" at the input fader
and disable stereo there. As a result, you will have 4 mono channels, HW Input AN 1-4.

Well, now you press stereo button for the mono channel HW Input AN 2.
The result answers your question. 1+2 are being combined and not 2+3.
