Topic: Babyface: connect to dj mixer

Hi there,

I would like to connect my Babyface to a dj mixer. My idea is to use 2 different channels, one per track in order to get control of the eq and volumen within the mixer.
So, here is the thing. How would I do that?

As Babyface has two headphone ouputs, is it correct if I use them for that? Connection between the mixer (rca inputs) and the babyface would be through an Y cable (jack stereo to two rca mono), am I right?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Babyface: connect to dj mixer

Hi,
The Babyface has 1 headphone output with 2 connections.
If you want to use the 4x analog outputs of the Babyface then you can use outputs 1+2 which are XLR(balanced) or RCA(unbalanced) depending which which breakout cable you are using with the Babyface.
You can also use outputs 3+4 which are the stereo haedphone(ubbalanced) outputs that are located either on the Breakout cable or on the side of the Babyface.
You will need to use the headphone out of your DJ mixer instead of the Babyface headphone out for Cueing mixes. and such.

For cabling you will need the following depending on the your DJ Mixer.

Channel 1+2 -
2x Mono XLR female(balanced) to Mono RCA MAle (unbalanced)
or
2x Mono RCA Male to Mono RCA Male
or
2x Mono RCA Male to Mono TS 1/4" (unblanced) Phono jacks
or
2x Mono XLR female(balanced) to Mono TRS 1/4" (Balanced) Phono jacks.

For channel 3+4-
Stereo TRS Male to Dual MONO RCA male or Dual MONO TS 1/4" Male phone jack .

Thanks Chris
