Topic: Help me select an RME sound card

Hello

I need a new soundcard for some home recording. I have a Win 7 x64 based PC with a core i7-2600 cpu.
It is primarily to be used for VST plugins and recording of some external hardware synths i have.

What are the recommendations? I guess I need more than 2-4 inputs so I can connect more than one or two synths at a time.
My motherboard does not have PCI or firewire only PCI-express and a plethora of USB2 and USB3 ports.

I have looked at the Fireface UC which seems nice with 8 inputs. It also seems the HDSPe with a Multiface II costs about the same. Then there is the Fireface UCX which is another level up in price.

Whats the difference between these ones (besides connectivity) ? Other options or something else to think about?

Thanks

Hi,

The Fireface UC or Fireface UCX would be the best choice for that you are trying to do. Here is a comparison between the Fireface UCX and Fireface UC.

Differences to Fireface UFX and Fireface UC/400

Thanks Chris
