Topic: Madiface XT output reference levels

A question concerning reference levels: With the Fireface line we had the option to set the output reference level to +4dbu, -10dbv or high gain. I can't find this option for the analog outputs with the Madiface. Is it not possible to set reference levels anymore? What fixed level is used?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Robert

Re: Madiface XT output reference levels

Maximum input level XLR, Gain 0 dB: +12 dBu. Variable gain, so no Ref Levels needed.
Output level balanced at 0 dBFS: +15 dBu. Fixed, can not be switched.

Page 94 of the manual. All levels listed.

Re: Madiface XT output reference levels

Thanks for the reply, that's what my ears told me. Having the same level @ 0 dbfs on a UFX would need 2db added in Totalmix, when set to +4dbu, right? I'm working on two systems, UFX and Madiface and need the same levels for outboard gear.

Re: Madiface XT output reference levels

You would overload then. Use Hi-Gain and reduce it by 4 dB.

Re: Madiface XT output reference levels

Ok, thanks. Why the change in reference level from +13 to +15dbu?
