Topic: Use ADI-2 Pro as digital/analog preamp

I currently run a raspberry PI with HiFiBerry SPDIF output shield as a roon endpoint feeding a pair of Adam S3V monitors via their digital AES/EBU input. The PI connects to the Adams via a casa-t by Funk Tonstudiotechnik. Volume is controlled in the digital domain via roon. The setup works fine, but for roon only.

I wonder if I could use the ADI-2 Pro in standalone mode to act as a digital/analog preamp with switchable input. There would be one analog source (phono preamp), the Raspberry PI via SPDIF and several digital sources fed via toslink from a HDMI-Switch/audio extractor.

I want to avoid to go through the analog inputs of the Adams.

Can this be done with the pro, or are there any other solutions you might want to point me to? I am aware of a product from lake people that does volume control but lacks AD/DA and all the other nice features of the ADI-2 Pro.

Thank you for reading.

Yes, that is possible, as explained here on page 36.
