Topic: XLR max ref level is +13dbu

Hi, i'am use rme as preamplifier, connect on abrahamsen power amplifier via xlr, but the max ref level is only +13dbu.

Auto ref level is setting off.

Thank for Your answer (and sorry for my english)

Re: XLR max ref level is +13dbu

XLR has +6db already, so the XLR output levels are +1, +7, +13, +19dbu (DAC will display -5, +1, +7, +13 however)

Re: XLR max ref level is +13dbu

Before last  firmware update, i remember that the dac display 19dbu too... Is possibile?

Re: XLR max ref level is +13dbu

yes, for example  at 19.3 Line Out XLR:

Example: Ref Lev is set to +19 dBu......

it's as if the dac didn't recognize that I'm using xlr....

No. It never has shown something different than +13 dBu. And BTW, how could the DAC know that you use the XLR output? No detector switches in those...
