Topic: ADI-2 Pro digital through with eq + balanced headphones question

Is it possible to use ADI-2 Pro as dsp eq before digital monitors and as balanced headphones output simultaneously?

Like this:
Other interface aes out -> adi-2 aes in -> dsp eq -> aes out -> monitors aes in
Other interface adat out -> adi-2 adat in -> dsp eq -> balanced headphones out

As I read in manual section 17.3, both this chains should work in Ad/Da converter mode, with 3/4 headphones out, but manual is not clear about balanced headphones operation in this configuration. Will it work, or only phones 3/4 possible?

The AES output is not connected to the AES input unless you use the option Digital Out Source Main Out. In that case channels 1/2 are routed to the AES output. Using Balanced phones will mute 1/2 (the AES output), as the output  becomes a phase inverted mono signal. So it works as long as you don't use Balanced phones mode.
