Topic: Record with ADI-2 DAC

Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to play some audio from Youtube through the ADI-2 DAC then send it back into my laptop to record in Logic Pro X?

This is for personal use only. I want to record some relaxing sounds that I can play from my iPhone, rather than have to constantly play a Youtube video to hear the audio.

I am able to achieve this with my UCX via loopback in Totalmix but I get some interference in the audio.

If anyone could help me achieve this with just the ADI-2 DAC, it would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Re: Record with ADI-2 DAC

You could just use one of the many websites that already extract the audio from youtube videos such as this one: https://www.youtube-wav.com/.

If you insist on using the ADI-2 DAC, you have to use one of the SPDIF inputs.

From the manual p. 10:

To enable the recording of the SPDIF input via USB go to I/O, Source, and select either USB
(Rec opt.) or USB (Rec coax). Record SPDIF optical and Record SPDIF coaxial activate the full
duplex operation with USB: The respective SPDIF signal is clock source and can be recorded
via USB. The analog output signal is now the current USB playback, no longer the SPDIF input
signal. For this to work the USB playback sample rate must be identical to the SPDIF input signal.

Re: Record with ADI-2 DAC

Also, if you are daring, try Source is Optical or SPDIF coax.

Take a look at this thread: https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?id=29016.
