Here is a theory: we suspect that macOS is confused and blocks the installed kernel extension for no apparent reason. You could take a look at the system information/extensions (see screenshot). It says "Verified developers", "Notarized = Yes" and in case of error "Loaded = No".
In such a case you could delete all driver files, restart once and reinstall the driver again, paying special attention to whether you have to allow the driver again at the end of the installation process in "System Settings/Security&Privacy".
