Topic: Fireface UFX +

Hi, So I have recently bought the fireface UFX + and I can't help but be a little disappointed. I am experiencing clicks and pops all the time. Midi playback in pro tools is terrible. it's ok until I hit record then it becomes glitchy and I just can't do anything with it. I am getting static when using my Kemper. What is going on? Am I doing something wrong here?

Re: Fireface UFX +

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

Basically, yes, but more info is needed to help. Are you using USB2, USB3 or Thunderbolt? Mac or PC? Do you connect direct or through any hub, adapter, extender, etc?

I am getting static when using my Kemper.

How does the Kemper connect, is that digital I/O? Seems like a clock configuration error is most likely.

Re: Fireface UFX +

SO I am connecting to my pc via USB 3, no adapter straight into the tower. I am coming from the main out of the Kemper into channels 9 and 10 via XLR cables

Re: Fireface UFX +

Please open the MADIface USB Settings app, there is an error counter in the top right that will tell you if you're having trouble with the USB connection. It only counts errors when the panel is open, so leave it in the background while you work. If you see errors there, you may have a compatibility or resource sharing issue on USB.

See the user manual for more information on USB troubleshooting, section 40.3 (page 114-115 in this PDF):

If USB seems to be working well, you may have other drivers causing trouble, usually Nvidia or wifi drivers are the culprit. See the link below for a link & info about the LatencyMon app.

Re: Fireface UFX +

Hi, Thanks for replying.  So I turned on my rig this morning to find out it's worse than ever. Just on playback the sound is distorted and unlistenable. I can see no errors in the USB error counter.

I don't think there is a latency problem as such and It says all my drivers are up to date.

My Focusrite 18i20 was never this difficult to use and I went with RME because of the reputation of the drivers.  This is highly frustrating. I am about to start work on my bands ep, I could really do without this.

Is there anyone I can speak to on the phone at all to resolve this issue?
