Topic: How to setup UFX+ with Ferrofish Pulse 16 MX over MADI

Hello and greetings to you all!

I am new to the RME club with a UFX+, and so far really happy with that choice.

However, I need more IOs so I connected a Pulse 16 MX via optical MADI to the UFX+, but I can't get the signals into TotalMix.

Here is my current status:
- UFX+ and Pulse16 both at 96kHz
- MADI in/out set to optical in UFX+ settings
- UFX+ clock: internal
- Pulse16 clock: MADI

Maybe someone here has a similar / same setup and can give me some hints on how to correctly set everything up so I can receive/send audio from the Pulse16 into UFX+?

Can you provide a screenshot of the UFX+ Settings dialog? LED on pulse flashing?

And yes, the MADI LED on the ufx+ front panel is lighting up green, but not blinking, if that's what you meant?

If by LED on Pulse you mean the level meters, yes they are flashing on input signal.

The Pulse website tells me that you need to update the firmware (after adding the SFP module). Also there will be a routing configuration in the Pulse display that you most probably did not set up. So currently channels only go to ADAT out or similar.

Thanks for the input, will check the firmware and routing settings on the Pulse 16MX as it shouldn't need an additional module, given I already have the MX version.

Will come back with results

If the Pulse came with the SFP module mounted already then you should check the internal routing options first.

I checked the routing options on the Pulse again (and obviously also fully understood it..)
Works fine now, after routing Analog Ins to MADI outs and vice versa.
