Topic: Apollo x8 and Babyface Pro FS clock mode

I have an Apollo x8 (master) connected to Babyface Pro FS (slave) connected using toslink.

The Fireface USB settings are set to:

Clock mode
  Sample rate: 48000 Hz
  Clock source: Optical In
  Curren clock: ADAT In

Input status
  ADAT: Sync (48 kHz)

I read the manual and it is not clear to me if Sync means that the Babyface receives a valid clock source.

If I change the Apollo x8 clock mode to either 48 or 96 kHz, the Babyface stays at 48 kHz and with status Sync.

Is that a good thing, or is something wrong?

Cheers
Ove

Yes adat always runs at 44 or 48k. It has no 96k but then runs in smux (where two 48k channels are used to get one 96k).
If you only need 2 channels you can use spdif optical instead of adat. You the need to set the apollo to send spdif optical and the rme to receive spdif optical. Then the samplerate will change.
