Topic: ADI-2-DAC FS driver for Windows 10 v2004?

Hello ya'll,

I just bought this little thing and I've no idea what I'm doing. Somebody said "you need a DAC, this one is good" - and here we are.

Anyways, I read somewhere that in Windows 10 you wouldn't need to install any drivers, which I guess is partially true as the sound is working out of the box using USB connection. But in the Device Manager I still see one "Unknown Device" named ADI-2-DAC that doesn't have any drivers.

"Device USB\VID_2A39&PID_3FD3&MI_03\7&16935adb&0&0003 requires further installation."

If I use the RME drivers I don't see any unknown devices. But again, I read somewhere, that Tidal works better with the Microsoft drivers.

So what device is not getting installed?

The internal firmware port. It's not needed and only exposed in Class Compliant operation.

Tidal can autoswitch frequency with stock drivers, which is not the case with RME drivers.

But you do need RME drivers for ASIO support and firmware upgrades.
