Topic: Fireface 800 Multiple Units Order

Hi there - long-time FF800 user here.

I have 2 FF800s running on my computer, and the PSU recently died on one.
I have purchased a third unit, so I can just swap out the old one, and keep running at full channel capacity while the broken unit is being repaired.

As I understand it, Total Mix ascribes a unit number automatically to each unit using the serial number thusly: the OLDEST unit (with the LOWEST serial number) will have the LOWEST device number.

In consequence, I have inserted the replacement unit, and re-wired my units in the rack like this:

Unit 1 "JF"    : serial# 22425412
Unit 2 "GUY" : serial# 22856973

However, in TotalMix, and the Fireface Setting applet, the units are reversed - the HIGHEST serial number is Unit #1 - so, "GUY" is showing up as Fireface (1) in my settings, devices and TotalMix.

Therefore, all of my routing is completely backwards!

Short of re-wiring everything again, what can I do?
Is there a way to FORCE the unit order, perhaps in the registry?

Any help appreciated.
