Topic: DSD filter at 32KHz or 40KHz

Would it be possible to add an extra DSD filter at 32KHz or 40KHz?

I see a lot of DSD64 files have noises above 32KHz, and 50KHz filter won't effectively cut them.

I know some old DSD players have filters at around 30KHz.

Thank you.

Re: DSD filter at 32KHz or 40KHz

We have no influence on these DSD filters, sorry. And all DAC chips that I know of have quite weak DSD filters. The old DSD players might have special analog filters (similar to old CD players and DATs with analog discrete filters). Those filters remove the desired higher bandwidth advantage of DSD, so...

If you use Foobar2000 with the sacd plugin, you can convert to PCM and then specify the cutoff filter yourself.

Thanks for the clarification, Matthias.
