Topic: Phone and Line out both active with volume control for phones

Hi RME,

I am the happy owner of a new RME-ADI2 DAC.  It did take me a while to figure out the navigation but now things are starting to make sense.  I do have a question about something I have not been able to configure properly.

I'd like to be able to toggle between: PHONES, LINE OUT (volume locked), and BOTH LINE OUT and PHONES... I would also like to be able to use the volume knob for PHONES when set to BOTH outputs... Is this possible?  I can do this easily with my Topping DAC...

Looking at 19.6 in the manual, I tried to set the "Mute Line" to OFF - this allows for me to listen to PHONES AND LINE together.  However, the volume defaults to LINE which is locked, so I can adjust the volume.  At least not easily...

For now, I am using Toggle which allows me to control the volume but only listen to one or the other.

Please advise or add this feature soon.

Re: Phone and Line out both active with volume control for phones

Volume is controlled digitally by DSP on the ADI-2 DAC.
As there is only one common DAC chip for phones and line, it‘s not possible to control both outputs individually at the same time.

You can switch reference level, 3 steps, for line, 2 steps for phones.
