Hello there,


does anyone used the RME ADI-2 DAC FS (V2) with a Singxer SA-1 Amp?
What is/was your output settings for the RME?

just use the headphone jack from your ADI-2 directly, unless you need higher voltage swing.
There's very few headphones RME cannot drive.

then just connect the two devices together with xlr cables and use any output level suitable to your listening level.

You won't get better result than using RME's own headphone amp though.

If you don‘t need Singxer’s full 6.5 W power into 32 Ohms (very likely!):

• Set Singxer to low gain / 0 dB (all 4 bottom switches to the outside of the chassis).

• Connect XLR.

• Set ADI-2 DAC to Auto Reference Level.
• Dial ADI-2 DAC’s Volume to 0 dBr.

Set listening volume with Singxer’s Volume dial.


Only if you need Singxer’s full power (probably not)
• Set Singxer’s 4 gain switches to high gain / 11 dB (to the inside of the chassis)
• Set ADI-2 DAC’s Volume to -6 dBr

I am gonna get the Denafrips Ares II which has purely a DAC, so i need a headamp.
When i have this headamp, i also want to pair it with the the RME, since i am gonna get a XLR switch to use both with XLR.
Also i want to use the balanced output of it, for some future, more demanding planar headphones.

So there is no question if i get the headamp, since this is already decided.
There is only the question, if someone has/had it and want to share their Auto Ref, Ref, Volume, etc. settings.
