Topic: Sample rate when connect ADI-2 behind babyface pro over SPDIF

If I connect it like this PC -> Babyface pro -> ADI-2
I wonder if I play audio of 768khz. Will it get downsampled on Babyface before being sent to ADI-2 or the audio stream reaching ADI-2 will still be the 768khz one?

Re: Sample rate when connect ADI-2 behind babyface pro over SPDIF

you can't play 768 natively if you connect BFP to your PC. That option is simply not available.
your OS/Software will need to downsample it to a rate BFP accept, such as 96.

Will not work at all, as SPDIF/AES (Optical, Coax, XLR) in general is limited to 192 kHz Sample Rate max.

Where do your 768 kHz files origin from - or is it just upsampled from lower SR files - then you‘re better off playing them in their native Sample Rate.
