RME User Forum → ADI-2 & 2/4 Pro series, ADI-2 DAC series → RME ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition and AKAI Force
I want to connect an AKAI Force to the ADI-2 pro via the two ins, but the Force is said to not be compatible with a lot of audio interfaces. Anyone here to have tried it and give me a hint before I order a Force? I am on Windows 11.

The Force has got a converter of its own, but usually it is used with an external audio interface, because the converter in it, like in the RME device is just better than the one in the Force. One needs just to use both of the Line-in Combo XLR 6.3 mm ins of the RME, like if you would connect a stereo synth. Problem is, when using the Force this way, it just says "device not recognised" or similar. This varies from interface to interface, at least when using Windows, I am not sure about class compliant interfaces and iOS.
If you say converter, then you mean a digital connection.
So you have this setup, RME ADI-2 Pro and AKAI Force both connected through USB
PC---MADIface ASIO driver---USB2----ADI-2 Pro FS R BE

If you work with a DAW a DAW can only load one audio driver.
I assume the ADI-2 Pro FS R BE is your main interface and you will load the MADIface ASIO driver.
The USB connection to the AKAI force you will need in this case most likely only for operating the device,
not to transder audio and the USB connection can't be used for audio transfer, as the DAW can only load one audio driver.
OK .. so .. how to record audio from the AKAI force using the ADI-2 Pro FS R BE ...

And this should cause issues ?!?!?!
RME ADI-2 Pro and AKAI Force will not be connected through USB, but just using a pair of 6.3 mm stereo jack cables from the Force to the RME. Like if you would connect a synth with the RME ADI-2 Pro (this should work I think) only this time it is a groovebox. This way it is said it works with a lot of external interfaces, but not with all of them, because some of them will not be recognised by the Force. Most grooveboxes are attached to an external interface using only stereo jack cables and not USB.

6.3 mm plug TRS? Seems to be a balanced connection then.
What should be "not recognized"?
It seems to be a simple standard analog (most likely balanced) connection (didn't check the manual).
It would be ridiculous if this wouldn't work.

Only a gut feeling ..
I think you need to distinguish between two main use cases here, AKAI force as
- pure drum computer and
- integration into DAW (effects, as controller, ..)
As pure drum computer it should work and send audio output to its analog output without issues.
