Topic: [solved] MusicBee 3.6.9345- sample rate switching doesn't work anymore
Since I’ve recommended MusicBee a few times here as a music player for Windows and as there are IMO not so many good music players around, I wanted to give you a quick heads-up on this topic.
Better stick with MusicBee version 3.5.x for now, until automatic switching of sample rate is hopefully resolved again in a future update of the 3.6 release train.
Background:
- Originally, it didn’t work at all in MusicBee, reported by me in Version 3.1.6512 Dec 2017
but Steven was so kind to spend some time on it to make it work.
- Then it worked nicely for a couple of years, but with 3.6.9345, the issue is back.
- When the issue started is not clear, possibly with 3.6.*.
I didn't upgrade MusicBee for a longer time and detected the issue first in 3.6.9345.
I can confirm that in v3.5.8698 there is no issue.
The setup:
PC
|
| USB3
|
UFX III---ADAT1 OUT-----SPDIF(o)------->ADAT IN---ADI-2 Pro FS R BE (in AD/DA mode)
Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (extended support until Jan 2032)
MADIface driver 1.02
This information is only for documentation purposes. I am pretty sure that this is no RME issue because it works fine in v3.5 and it is a known issue that most Windows Music Players have an issue with sample rate changes when using an ASIO driver.
I will give you an update once the issue is fixed.
Have a nice day!
