Is any special software needed to achieve this?

Re: Stream Deck Plus + TotalMix

To control Totalmix output volumes with a Stream Deck Plus, you must install the unofficial StreamDeck RME TotalMix FX plugin from GitHub and configure RME's Mackie Control Support within TotalMix to enable MIDI control. Once the virtual MIDI port is set up and TotalMix is configured to listen, you can assign the Stream Deck Plus's rotary knobs to control the desired output volumes within the Totalmix software.

I found this answer online but how true it is I don't know.

1. Install the Plugin
Download the StreamDeck RME TotalMix FX plugin from its GitHub page.
https://github.com/shells-dw/streamdeck … master.zip
Install the plugin on your computer to make RME TotalMix FX actions available in your Stream Deck software.

2. Configure TotalMix
Open the TotalMix FX application.
Navigate to the options to enable Mackie Control Support. This allows the TotalMix software to receive and interpret MIDI commands from the Stream Deck.
Ensure that a virtual MIDI port is set up on your system, as this is the communication channel the Stream Deck will use to send commands to TotalMix.

3. Assign Knobs on the Stream Deck Plus
Open the Elgato Stream Deck software.
In the software, you will now see actions from the installed TotalMix FX plugin, including options for controlling different outputs.
Drag and drop the desired TotalMix control actions to the physical knobs on your Stream Deck Plus.
Configure the actions to control the specific output volumes you want. For example, you can assign one knob to control the main output volume and another to control a headphone mix.
Pressing or turning the knob will now send the corresponding MIDI command to TotalMix, adjusting the selected output volume.

Maybe think before you invent wrong answers. That plugin does not support the rotary encoders.

Maybe you think about the tone you use before being disrespectful?

What you are looking for is a Stream Deck possibility or plugin that can send the rotary encoder data via MIDI or OSC to other devices. This has nothing to do with TM itself...

Btw, TotalMix documentation on that is well known.

You might get more useful answers in a Stream Deck–focused forum for its capabilities?

Re: Stream Deck Plus + TotalMix

There is a fork of the totalmix streamdeck plugin that supports rotary encoders:
https://github.com/cexen/streamdeck-totalmix

For those who want to use it with decks like mirabox or streamdock,
just copy the plugin folder in the streamdock plugins folder, edit "manifest.json" and replace all occurences of "Encoder" with the word "Knob".
