Topic: ADI-8 Pro, Fireface 802 through patchbay

Hello guys,

I'm quite new to this whole recording topic and I'd like to get the opinion of the more experienced members of the forum.
Recently I've purchased an old Tascam M3500 recording console which I'd like to integrate to my system in the best possible way.

I have a Fireface 802 and bought recently a crazy cheap ADI-8 Pro, which would be the ins and outs of the computer but through patchbays for the maximum flexibility as I have a lot of external effects and such.

As I've started to plan the layout and the cabling I've run into a few issues and got questions. I want to run the AD/DA converters with TRS cables to a TRS patchbay and from that just use regular TS, unbalanced snake cables to the mixer as it is running on -10dbV level.

Would a half normalled patchbay cause any issues in such a setup? On the converters, how would you choose the level, does it make sense to run the outputs on +4dbV, just stick to what the receiving end (in this example the console) wants to hear? This connection wouldn't confuse these so called servo balance IO connectors if they have TRS connection plugged into the device, but after the patchbay it is only an unbalanced connection?

Hope it all makes sense!
Cheers
