Topic: Dropouts and stutters on Mac

Hi!

20+ years user of RME here. First on PC and the last 10 years on Mac. From hammerfall 9652 via Raydat to UFX+ and always had rock solid experience. The last year+ or so I have been having stability issues though.

Using the Driver package I get dropouts and stuttering (that does not show up as overloads in Nuendo) and using the kernel driver I get sudden reboots. (Latest available driver.)

I am running the UFX+ over USB3 via a OWC thunderbolt hub. I'm on a M1 Pro running MacOS15.6.1 right now but I had the same issue on earlier OS.

What am I doing wrong here?

This is a USB 3 problem of the Mac OS. There is a solution for UFX III, MADIface XT II and Digiface Dante and Ravenna.

You can use Thunderbolt of your UFX+.
