Topic: Digiface AVB drivers nuking network speeds to <10MB/s

Hi everyone,

I just installed a NAS and am working around RME's software to get files transferred.  I've narrowed the issue to the RME AVB Controller application or associated drivers.  I updated the drivers just now in hopes that there was a fix in one of the updates.  During the installation, I got hit with the netifc error popup.  At this time I'm >100MB to the NAS.  Upon installation of the netifc, speeds drop to <10MB/s.  Often, I have been getting 4-5MB/s.  At the moment it's about 7MB/s.

Anyone have any ideas on how to allow full speed network through the NIC on the computer while using the USB attached Digiface AVB?
Killing the RME GmbH in Settings --> General --> "Allowed in the Background" then restarting returns normal function on my network.

MacOS Sequoia 15.7.1
Digiface AVB Firmware v263, Driver v4.21
Network arrangement: Mac <-> Gigabit Port on switch <-> DAC <-> Aggregation Switch <-> NAS

Edit: I have noticed that going into the hardware settings of the NIC controller (both internal and external) if you disable AVB on the NIC, it will for about a minute or so go full speed, then get nuked back down to a slow speed.

4.21 isn't up to date, try 4.27.
Also, the netifc add-on is no longer needed. Please update the Digiface AVB to firmware 268 or up.

RME AVB Controller forced netifc.  Perhaps due to driver version 4.21?

Update to 4.27 complete.  Network throttling persists.

Firmware 268 was installed?

Re: Digiface AVB drivers nuking network speeds to <10MB/s

Looks like initial testing is showing return of normal network function following updating to version 4.27.

Sometimes it takes a minute for things to settle and changes to network speeds to occur.  But, by the time between updating the firmware and the time I'm writing this...I am hopeful that the firmware update has solved the network issue.

Prior to downloading a new RME Digiface AVB Flash Tool, the old version of the flash tool was showing I was up to date.  ...so I never updated the firmware past 4.21.  Hopefully in the new version of the AVB Flash tool, it can check if the flash tool version is up to date.  If that isn't done when checking for firmware versions, that would probably be a good addition to updates to that application.

Thank you for your help RME Support and MC.  Right now I'm sitting at about 550MB/s W and 700MB/s R.
