Topic: Sample Rate change disable. Windows won't play. Dante no devices

This system was put away working.  On new setup,  RME Dante will not appear in Dante Controller. Network ports show activity on Primary. Windows sees Ethernet 2. All drivers and firmware just updated.

Audio will not play when Windows sends to RME. 

MADIface settings displays 48kHz sample rate but no ability to change. Says "only to be changed when network is down" but there's no way to turn off the network. Tried disabling in Windows but no effect.

Any advice on having Windows playback to RME Dante?  Or for Dante Controller to find devices?  Or for us to change sample rate on the RME device? (want to try this to bring the sample rate back to 96k and MAYBE clocking would help)

Came back to add a screen shot of the MADI panel...  but can't upload images to posts afaik. No time to host it elsewhere and then link....   on the job.  Thoughts appreciated.

Even with network disabled in Windows and network devices disconnected from RME...   open Nuendo and unable to change sample rate

More notes...    Have tried to uninstall the network driver and update that.  No change.

Power cycle unit.  Plug up USB. Dante Controller does see Ethernet and pulls IP address. No devices are found on network.  Currently devices are only RME and digital mixer with Primary and Secondary plugged into RME network.

One more update...    Have pulled the unit to another laptop for testing.  Fresh laptop. No previous installs. No Dante software installed. RME drivers loaded and install process reports successful. Total Mix opens. Windows can see/assign output to RME Dante. Youtube video will not start playing. MP3 played in media player will not start. It's like there's no clock running...   or audio can't start.

Device is connected with factory USB3 cable. </observations>

Firts try to play something over the headphones on the DF Dante. Then look for network problems.
Which driver did you install? Does Totalmix open?  Do you see a signal in TotalMix?

Yes...  see previous posts for these details.

Summary:  Nothing plays from the RME Dante unit.  There is no other network, just using the RME Dante ethernet network for direct connection.  We are using all the latest WIN drivers for network and audio, as found on the website (RME). No audio will play...  audio files and players will remain at 0:00 as if they cannot find the clock


The problems began after we updated to the latest version of Dante Controller.  It worked fine for one job using that version of Dante, and has been bricked ever since.

It seems like the Dante module within the DF Dante is bricked. As that one includes the internal master clock playback also won't work anymore. Please contact your distributor for check and service.
