Topic: Digicheck Totalyser Input Settings and Applications

I'm trying to ensure I understand input settings properly when using Totalyser ... and a couple questions.

If I want to monitor the input to my DAW when recording, I should use the input selection choices without 'Playback' added to the channel name.

If I want to monitor the actual output of my DAW when mixing, I should use the input selections choices with 'Playback' added to the channel name.

How does 'ticking' the 'Inputs' or 'Playbacks' boxes in the input setting dialog affect function?

If I want a 'preset' for both applications, can I do so with separate workspaces, or the snap shots in a workspace ... or how?

Thank you.

Yes

It creates routing of signals into the Digicheck analyzer instrument, each instrument can have its own signal.

Save your workspaces to the computer.
For easier handling, you can store the most frequently used in the "Quick Workspace Select" slots.
Then in DC, press "w" to open the "Quick Workspace Select" menu and select the DC workspace.

Interessting, my Digicheck does not have "Quick Workspace Select".  Digicheck NG 093 Mac.
Is it possible this function is on Windows only ?
Totalmix mac has it, all normal...

Edit :
Indeed it is not availabel in the Mac version, https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.ph … 457#p42457

Thanks, so much!

So, practically speaking one only has to be concerned about selecting 'playback' channels with Totalyser when monitoring DAW output, since for recording you'd more typically use multiple inputs and the Multi-channel Level Meter?

Yes, why not, me never used Digicheck for input monitoring during recording, I was alwas happy with Totalmix input signal level meter.
Afterwards during mixing and processing I use Digicheck.

Thank you again, waedi.

I like the Multi-channel Level Meter, because you can scale it quite large vertically and keep other software open on the same screen. TotalMix can be a real estate beast with the UFX+ and a MADI 648.

Most probably forgotten to add, and nobody ever asked about it or noticed it. On the list now...

Re: Digicheck Totalyser Input Settings and Applications

I never used workspaces in Digicheck, once set up it stays and works.
But it would be nice to have it complete with all possible features of course.
