Topic: Totalmix - Pan Depth

Totalmix v1.99
Pro Tools Studio v2025.12.0

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been discussed before. Just wondering if Pan Law/Depth settings for this version of Totalmix are accessible, or does the software default and lock to a value that cannot be adjusted? i.e. 0dB, -2.5db, -3dB, etc. And if its the latter, what is the default pan depth value in Totalmix for this version?

I'm in the process of calibrating a new AD/DA system (Ferrofish Pulse 16 AE), with the Digiface acting the actual audio interface.
My DAW pan depth is configured to -3dB, and I would like this to be consistent with what Totalmix is monitoring.

Thanks!

Page 35 of the new user manual :

Panorama. Routes the input signal freely to the left and right routing destination
(lower label, see below). The level reduction in center position is -3 dB.

What Totalmix version are you asking ? You use 1.99 while the newest is 2.00 beta 16

Spoiler : It is the same, -3dB pan center position, also in Totalmix 2.00

Thanks for your reply waedi.

My testing before your reply confirmed -3dB pan depth in Totalmix v1.99

I'm curious if Totalmix is simply reading and applying the DAW host pan depth settings, or if its default setting is -3dB? There are no pan depth settings that I can actually change, if for example my pan depth settings were different in my DAW.

Re: Totalmix - Pan Depth

To me it seems to be fix, no adjustment possible.
Because I can't see any settings or options and the user manual would tell about.

Thanks for the info! When I have time, I'll play around with a reference tone to see if it is indeed reading the DAW's pan depth, or if it is actually a pre-set, non-adjustable level in Totalmix. It would be great if this was adjustable, as some DAW users may use a different pan depth such as -4.5 dB, and if Totalmix is pre-set to -3dB, their metering system will not be accurate.

Re: Totalmix - Pan Depth

For metering I would use Digicheck NG

Each analyzer instrument has tons of settings to customize your perfect metering

Love Digicheck! I also use an external true-peak & LUFS meter, and an analogue VU meter.
