Topic: Driver updates overwrite TotalMix 2.x installation with TotalMix 1.991

Hi, I just updated from driver v4.27 to 4.30 (macOS DriverKit). I was pretty surprised to find, after rebooting, that my TotalMix 2 installation was overwritten with TotalMix 1.9. I had to manually reinstall TotalMix 2, and some of my TotalMix 2-only settings (like zoom level) were lost on reinstall.

Now that TotalMix 2 is very much out of beta, could you update the driver installer to bundle TotalMix 2 instead? Or at least allow the user to choose between TotalMix 2 and 1.9 (like with the dedicated TotalMix 2 installer)?

Thanks!

I experienced the same behavior.
Thanks in advance for the fix on this.

The (all) drivers will not get 2.x before next year, due to too many older computers out there not being compatible. Adding two TM FX would blow up the driver archive quite a lot. The new installer slowly brings TM FX 2.x into our user base and allows anyone to check if it works as expected or not.

Thanks for the reply! In that case, would you consider at least not overwriting a pre-existing TotalMix 2.x installation if found while updating the driver?

Good idea, we'll check that.

We have released the first driver that does not overwrite TM FX 2.x anymore. It's the macOS HDSPe DriverKit re-release of V1.15. We will add the same routines to all other packages over time, but as we are now in summer holidays you'll need some patience for that to happen.
