Topic: FR: expose DURec files to host over the existing USB connection

Could you make the DURec recordings on the USB drive accessible in the Totalmix FX desktop app, for instance an export to WAVprocessor option in the menu or drag n drop directly to the desktop.

One of the main ideas behind DuRec is that it is indenpendent from the connected computer in case of crashes. So to connect it to computer again would influence that function.

Also, this would mean the interface would have to act as a removable storage device, which it is not designed to do...

I would think that this is counterproductive in terms of audio stability.

You had in parallel
- the audio flows for all channels (no matter whether in use or not) and
- the additional "high bandwidth" traffic of DURec files.

At the same time, the recording interface needs to stay stable as an audio device for Windows and audio applications (DAW, ...). Most likely this won't work satisfactorily, so this functionality makes no sense to me.

i see. its not capable of acting as a mass storage device. it's lovely standalone recorder for my modular rig when im not working in the DAW and to simply export the files later would be a nice addition. Understandable keeping it completely separate from the computer. And it's not too difficult to run a USB extension round to the front for easier access on the UCX2.
thank you all for replying and clearing that up.
