Not quite. Because I can not keep groups at the same level between snapshots. For example I might want to still keep the synth group on its current volume between different snapshots and be able to adjust it accordingly.

I guess using phones as speaker B could solve the mono and switching between both without phantom. but also means I can't use both together. I like the flexibility that allows me, if someone is making noise i play white noise on the speakers and mix in headphones. But I suppose i could have a different snapshot for that.
another use case: what if you are sending signals out to multiple people or if i record synths i like to combine speakers+headphones as the speakers are favoring the synth side of the studio which makes it unbalanced.
But I understand your point. Still would be nice to have more flexibility as to what to leave out. It's not like the technology isn't there. If one can link 2 things between layouts one can also link more, it's just a matter of allowing that mirroring.

Hi, new totalmix interface looks good!

Wanted to give some feedback regarding totalmix fx with Mac Os / IOs 27.

Sidecar now supports the ipad touchscreen, so you can extend your desktop mac with the ipad and use the ipad touch screen to control the apps. This feature seems not to work with Totalmix fx 2.0 at least with the finger atm, only with the apple pencil.

Would be amazing if you can implement this feature!

TotalMix FX 2.1 Release Candidate 1 is now available for Windows and Mac, see links in first post!

This time it is with installer and added help for TM FX (English only). The installer also allows to install the default version 1.991.

Latest changes in RC1 are mainly for OSC: preventing Control Room channels to be set to mono. Preventing Talkback to be set to stereo. Loading Layout Presets via OSC now works identical to the ARC USB, taking the Preferences option Open/Close into account.

The installer only replaces TotalMixFX_x64.exe (or _arm64; writte by driver-installer). TotalMixFX.exe is not in this scheme. You could rename it and run the installer again.

We had this topic earlier. The installer needs a correctly named TM FX in that directory. It might work when installing 1.991 first, or simply rename beta 7 to TotalMixFX_x64.exe.

And to be able to rename it, one has to completely exit TM, not just click on x.

May be the installer could get an update ? Replace the folder instead of replacing TM ?

Ah, I see, and the folder name is different for different drivers... not that easy as I thought.

A few installer observations:

the installer only wanted to update a prior exe named TotalMixFX_x64.exe, it wouldn't update the beta TotalMixFX.exe, or do a "fresh" install (without updating the TotalMixFX_x64.exe) for instance in C:\Program Files\RME\MADIface

as the installer runs as Admin, when it starts TMFX on completion of install, TMFX is also running as Admin (that one time).

Also, the installer did not update the Reg key FirefaceMixTray2 in: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Will v2.1+ automatically change default OSC to Global mode or will the user need to do that?

I could test it but would have to temporarily blast/rename my TMFX XML, and thought it was worth seeing the answer from RME here.

If I remember right you have to enable it here per remote controller (1-4), see pull-down menu Compatibilty (Mode):

For bidirectional communication you need to enter the Remote Controller Address, here I used the loopback address of my PC, as this communication is local and does not need to go through the network interface card.

RC2 is now available from the links in the first post. We were informed of an overlooked issue in Global OSC, where sending mono submixes was done incorrectly and screwed up consecutive numbering. And fixed it.

Answering my own question, TotalMix OSC default compatibility mode is 1.90 for a clean install currently.

Update: Probably some side effect of the x64 thingy.
I had two TMFX in startup, both the nonx64 and x64 - this probably caused below.
After deactivating the x64 entry via task manager/autostar, the issues are gone

Thanks, RC2 brings two issues for me (win11, 125% scaled desktop):

1) window size will not be retained after computer reboot. Whereas closing/opening TMFX will retain the window size - strange
2) Having a link in the taskbar, now I need to click twice to open the window (although TMFX is already running)

Both was fine / not the case with beta7

You have Windows 11 - then you deactivated the wrong one.

Unfortunate that this has yet to be addressed. Same thing is happening here to me and I did have TotalMix FX 2.0 running and then reverted back to v1.9.1 - but the issue continues.

I will continue to watch this space for changes in the area - as it is a huge PITA to have to resize and reposition this thing - every single day (after a reboot).
