Playback on windows media/You tube/spotify etc stops and starts with a split second little high frequency pop. It's like a 1 second pause then starts again. Really hard to practice music to.

It's random so typically in the mornings it's not bad but by the end of the day it can get bad.

But it never happens in the DAW. So that's good.

It started when I got my new PC from PC AUDIO LABS -
They tried everything and finally told me I might have to wipe the computer and start over....I don't want to do that.

Could this be an RME issue????

I have updated RME software, but that didn't help

To me this sound like a problem with buffer
What is your buffer size setting ?
Did you try play around with different buffer settings ?

Also check in the driver settings the error counter, are there errors ?

Is this with your Fireface UFX lll ?

Fireface UFXll sorry I forgot to put that. I've tried different buffer sizes and it doesn't seem to matter.

Next test I would try : new USB cable, on every port.
