Hi all.
Just noticed that if I plug headphones in playing dsd direct dsd. The headphones are not auto muting?
Why??
Also if i turn off direct dsd nothing changes still shows dsd. There should be a click.
Firmware fully updated.

I have adi 2/4 pro and adi 2 dac fs akm they work fine.
Is it firmware problem or is my unit buggered.
Only had it 2 days.
So to recap
Headphones won't mute playing dsd.
Turning off direct dsd does nothing. Dsd detection works..
Need to know if its firmware related or a damaged unit.
I have done multiple resets still same.
Will wait for a firmware then if not its going back.

Update...
The manual states that headphones will be muted in balanced mode.
So I take it that unbalanced will still be active.
And yet dsd on adi 2 dac fs akm in direct dsd mutes headphones. HELP!!!

Don't worry, ADI-2 Pro EX just arrived.
No wonder there might be little hiccups here and there, and DSD has its specialties.

RME is known for fixing stuff fast once something turns up.

The Phones channels 3/4 always run in DSD Direct mode Off, so always work. DAC channels 1/2 Line and 1/2 Phones do use DSD Direct and therefore switch off when DSD Direct is set to On.

This is the current state for all ADI-2 Pro. I also don't get where the confusion comes from, as this is clearly described in the Pro's manual:

After having activated DSD Direct in the ADI-2 Pro’s menu (SETUP - Options - Device Mode / DSD - DSD Direct 1/2), channels 1/2 use this mode when a DSD signal is received. The analog signal is then available at the rear outputs, with a coarse volume control via the analog output reference level control. Outputs PH 1/2 are deactivated. Outputs PH 3/4 stay in normal DSD mode and have the standard volume control available.

Note that the option clearly says 'DSD Direct 1/2' !

In fact I don't expect any new 'bugs' to show up as the ADI-2 Pro EX is built on the mature ADI-2 Pro series firmware. On the contrary its firmware includes several fixes for never reported issues, reported issues and wishes. One example: Crossfeed is now pre EQ. Some of these (as Crossfeed pre EQ) have already been back-ported to all ADI-2 Pro models (FS, FS R BE, AE...) in latest firmware FPGA 269 DSP 130, others will follow later. More details about this will be released on a later date. We couldn't add them to the firmware readme yet to not disclose EX series stuff too early, sorry.
