Topic: TotalMix Remote for iPad keeps going offline for some seconds

hello. I'm using TotalMix Remote for iPad (v. 1.43) on an iPad Pro (12,9" 5th gen) with iOS 18.6, with a Fireface 802 FS.
The app is working fine most of the time, but it often goes offline and then it reconnects by itself after 5~10 seconds. It's really annoying because when I have to do an urgent change in the mixer, I can't, because it goes offline. It gives no messages, it just goes offline and the faders stop working. Then it connects after seconds.

Could it be a network issue? What kind of logs/files I have to provide in order to inspect the issue? Thank you so much to everyone.

What is the 802 connected to?
Do you have another laptop or so that you could test with Totalmix Remote on it in the same network, to see if the issue persists?

the audio interface is connected to my main desktop Windows PC, which runs Windows 11 25H2 (26200.8875).
I have a Windows laptop, but I can't access it now. I can try this solution in 2 or 3 days. Thank you in the meantime smile

Hi everyone, thanks for all your replies! After some testing, it seems the issue only occurs when using the TP-Link TX201 PCIe 2.5GbE network card I recently installed.
I recently upgraded to a 2.5Gb fiber connection, but since my older motherboard only supports 1Gb Ethernet, I installed this PCIe card to take advantage of the full speed.
The card stopped working for a few days, so I switched back to my motherboard’s built-in Ethernet. During that time, the iPad issue completely disappeared. After a Windows update, the TX201 started working again, so I reconnected it—and the iPad problems came back.
So it definitely seems to be related to the TP-Link TX201. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with this card?

Did you check the power saving options of that card in device manager? And power saving of PCIe cards in general in the power profile you use?

Good point, Vinark, might be.
General comment: When it comes to network cards and adapters, then Intel is the best choice.
The TP-Link is a cheap card for €18.24; I wouldn't expect too much from it when it comes to controllers/drivers.

thank you, @vinark I just disabled power saving as you suggested, I'll let you know if something changes.
@ramses you're right, I may think about replacing this card with a better one, if the issue persists.

Hey guys, I tried disabling power saving both in the “Power Management” tab under the network adapter’s Properties (opened through the Windows Control Panel) and in Device Manager, as @vinark suggested.

Are there any other settings I should pay attention to?

Alternatively, I know this might not be the best place to ask, but since the issue is audio-related, I thought I’d give it a try: could you recommend a good, preferably better, network card to replace this one? I’m based in Italy, in case that’s relevant for availability or recommendations.

You could try any inexpensive USB WiFi device and use it only for this purpose... Keep the card for whatever else it does if there aren't any issues otherwise.
