Topic: Digiface AVB 3/4 Output

Hi Team,
I use a Digiface AVB for a variety of applications (Obviously Totalmix over AVB being the primary!)

At one of the studios, I monitor the output of the digiface by running the 3/4 Headphone output through an original UFX.
I have a TRS cable split into two mono 1/4 inch jacks that I plug into the 9 and 10 of the UFX. (Set to instrument) Should I not be using 9/10?

I realise that the Digiface headphone output is "headphone level" so when I plug it into the UFX it is really noisy,.....I"m amplifying an already amplified signal and getting all the extra noise.

Is there a way to set the output of the 3/4 output to be at line level? (No headphone map?)....or am I doing something odd here?
The high pitch noise is just not great to monitor with

Any suggestions would be grateful.

don't set the input of the UFX to instrument, this is too much amplification and creates noise and distortion.

make it normal line-level input. The headphone output of the Digiface stays headphone as it is hardware, you have to lower the output volume in Totalmix and watch the input of UFX Totalmix. Keep it below red.

Thanks @waedi I did all of that but still pretty noisy. I have changed the TRS cable too. Nevermind,.....I thought there would be a simple way to do it. I guess 98% of users just use it as a headphone amp which works great.

Pretty noisy is a vague description, measurement is better. You can use Digicheck for both signals to find out where noise appears.

Better 3 signals measure :

playback signal before headphone output (is it clean without noise ?)
headphone output signal via Loopback (is there distortion ?)
input signal in UFX (is it different to the others ?)(try different analog inputs, if you use the mic inputs make sure the input gain is fully closed)

Digicheck Spectral Analyser on stereo inputs should work for this test.

I have never used DigiCheck Ng before.
So,...with the Digiface AVB headphone output at "0" and the UFXiii inputs 9/10 gain at "50" and fader at "0", I get this noise. Thats with nothing playing.
