Topic: MIDI over MADI not working since new Windows MIDI Stack

I have a MADIFace XT and a pair of Ferrofish A32 interfaces connected via MADI.

In the past I could use the Ferrofish MIDI ports, but since the new Windows MIDI Stack arrived they have ceased to work.

I've updated the Windows driver for my MADIface, updated the MADIFace's firmware, and the firmware in the A32s, but all to no avail.

I can see four ports listed for the MADIFace: XT Midi Port1-4. i can select them for output from my DAW, and to all intents they seem to be working as far as my DAW is concerned. But I get no MIDI output from the A32 MIDI connections and the MIDI indicators on the A32s show no activity.

Any advice gratefully received.

Re: MIDI over MADI not working since new Windows MIDI Stack

Are you trying to send MIDI from the DAW to the physical MIDI outputs of the A32 via MADI? How exactly are the various devices connected?

Thank you for responding.

The A32s are connected to the MADIFace XT via optical cables.

Yes, I'm trying to use the MIDI outputs of the A32s from Cubase.

1. Please give driver version and firmware version numbers.

2.You can do a simple self-check by pluggin MADI Out 1 into MADI In 1 directly (Loopback), then send something on that MIDI port and check what comes back (MIDI monitor etc). That would rule out the Ferrofishs if done correctly.
