Topic: DC multiple recording windows HD setup

another idea for paranoiak's Digirecorder long record run problems wink

the focus here is to ensure audio files redundancy and provide flexibility in saving those audio in real time at a glance

would that be a big programming issue to access and assign each instant recording and saving windows to various hence different hard disc locations, with multiple Digirecorder instances capturing the same audio input channels ?

my thinking here is to set:
- one main Digirecorder running on background full time without interruption, storing the overall concert into hard disk #1, some kind of extra high speed gear on eSATA port or firewire...USB2.0
- two additional Digirecorders operated one at a time, with one assigned for  instant audio recording to desktop, while the second one saving the former take to the final processing location in some other hard disk left for that further issue

Imagine once finished the sonata adagio, during the musician short pause one can switch from recorder 2 <--> 3 at a glance to secure the latest part of music piece when the other one being running on the next movement

that way, a complete and secured redundacy can be achieved in case of trouble with one of those hard disk tasks

I did a quick test with multichannel 5.0 inputs, all three recorders running 24/96khz, works perfect, easy to setup and operate, just need to monitor overall levels at the background recorder metering...........however DC uses only one hard disk location yet, not individuals HeadScratch

Any thoughts out there ?

All the best
