Topic: Totalmix FX won't start with OSX 10.10.5

If TMFX does not start under OSX 10.10.5, please try the following steps:

  • Open the finder and navigate to Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > HAL

  • Copy "Avid CoreAudio.plugin" e.g. to the desktop (just to retain the file)

  • Delete "Avid CoreAudio.plugin" in the HAL Plugin folder

  • Reboot

Thank you, I have tried to do that but there is not such a folder "Avid CoreAudio.plugin" inside "HAL"

There are more plug-ins that can cause apps not to start. The below information is from Native Instruments support section:

-----------------
Additionally, we have learned that the plugin files listed below may also cause similar problems when launching an NI application:

    "RazerAudio.plugin"
    "Hear.plugin"
    "SoundBunny.plugin"
    "Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin"

As these files are likewise found in the HAL folder, the procedure to manually remove these files remains the same as explained above.
-------------

SoundBunny was the culprit for an RME user where TotalMix FX would not start.
