Topic: ADI-192 DD - possible heat issue, losing sync?

Hello,

I have a an ADI-192 DD that stops functioning after an extended period of time, about 1 to 2 hours. The lights will start flashing as it loses sync with the attached AES devices. I've even set it up as master with my RayDAT cards and it will still lose sync, but the two RayDATs will function normally. The solution is to turn off the 192 DD for 10/30 minutes, then it will start working again, but not for long.

I suppose one way to know for sure, if it's a heat issue, is to take it out of the rack. In the mean time, is this a known issue? I'm out of warranty. I've tried swapping cables, btw, no difference.

Not a known issue. No other way than sending it in for checking, IMHO.

Thanks for the info, Matthias. I'll pull it out of my rack first and test for a while then consider sending it in for repairs.

Re: ADI-192 DD - possible heat issue, losing sync?

Update: I think this is a cabling issue. The last few times it happened I pulled out one of the toslink cables from the back of the ADI-192 and it solved the problem. Happens very rarely now.

Maybe just some dirt in the toslink connection?
